Could this film BE any funnier?

What can you say about the three amigos?

It is very funny, with some great one liners. I've liked this film since i first saw it when i was a kid and it is still just a funny today. great performances from the three leads and some truly hysterical moments. Surely "You killed the invisible swordsman" is the best bit of the film and is one of the funniest and most bizarre scenes in movie history.

What do you reckon?

"I'm in the god damn club aren't I?"

reply

yeah i love it.

with a big ugly smile on his face
"im still here el guapo"

i think the funnies bit is where lucky is trying to get dusty and neds attention by saying LOOK UP etc sounding like a bird.

but seeing football(soccer) teams doing the amigos salute after a goal is always a classic

My favorite part is the conversation in the beginning between Jefe and El Guapo
regarding the Pinatas.

"Jefe, What is a plethora?" etc....

I get a kick out of that just reading it.

The my little buttercup musical number has to my favorite. ever since i was 3 watching this movie on HBO i've loved that song. absolutely hilarious, even after watching it 17 years later... i'm still laughing out loud at the scene.

"Hell of a thing, killin' a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have."

reply

I love the scene when Dusty tries to act like one of El Guapo's men. "we trim the hedges of many small villages...........WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

reply

This is a derivation of the line from Monty Python. Bring us a shrubery.

reply

I like the part when they were in the Mexican bar and Steve Martin asks about the tequila.

"Is it fattening?" and the guys replies: "Fattenes?" Priceless.

"Dear little Buttercup, won't you stay a while."

I love love love this film. My fave line has to be ... "you son of a motherless goat"

The room was full of milkmen, some of whom were quite old

reply

I love the Dusty line when asked by Mr Flugalman "Do you know nada means?'
"Isn't it a light chicken gravy?"

reply

or the other Chevy (Dusty Bottoms) line at the door of the parents of Carmen after they kidnapped her and burned the village. The father says, they have taken everything! Then Dusty says, "Have you seen a pair of Cufflinks.."

reply

I always got a kick out of the scene where when the first 3 bandits rob the village, and they turn around and look at these 3 silly idiots acting like that.

Then one of the bandits say...son of a motherless goat, and who are you?

Too funny.

"Go ahead Punk!! Make my day."

There are too many scenes to give each one it's proper respect, but to me, the best line ( and most sophomoric ) will always be "It's a mail plane, How can you tell? ..... " simply classic.

"Great! You've killed the invisible swordsman!" LMAO!!

My favorite scene is when Lucky was up on a wall, trying to get the attention of Ned and Dusty who were sitting below.

(in a "bird" voice):

Hey! Hey! Yoohoo! Yoohoo! Lookuphere, lookuphere, lookuphere! etc.

reply

Classic movie. Kills me everytime I see it. Up there with the comedy greats such as Dumb & Dumber and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

reply

You know its a great movie because you laugh before the funny moments because you anticipate it and no matter how many times you see you still laugh. Best part? [Insert Script Here] - Thats the best part!

reply

-My little buttercup, wont you stay a...
-While!WHILE!!!

reply

"Dusty, would you like to kiss me."
"Yeah..."
... moment of silence...
"Well?"
"What? you mean now?"
"Well, we can take a walk and you can kiss me on the veranda."
"The lips would be fine."

This movie is definately underrated.

Hehehe - when Dusty asks in the small poor mexican village: 'You wouldn't happen to have anything else than mexican food?'

reply
