Good but too one sided

Allies killed tons of women and children in German cities. When the Russians entered Berlin they went on an orgy of rape and murder. So don't think the Russians were the good righteous ones. And Stalin ended up killing 50 million Russians so he was a far worse enemy to his own people than Hitler was. This film was very good, but too nationalistic only giving really one side. Both sides did atrocities.

Yeah, I was thinking that watching it; Churchill was technically a war criminal too, right? I despise the reductive mythology the likes of Spielberg and co. have bequeathed us and at least appreciated this for taking us into the depths in a way those hacks don't. When do we ever see movies about Eastern Europe during wartime? Much of today is backed up by WW2 lies and would tumble like a house of cards if people weren't so inundated with our dear leaders' hot air on the subject. I spit whenever Remembrance Day rolls around, like screw you parasites; nothings changed, its business as usual! How does a species wipe out 50 million of its own and go right back to living the same way as soon as its over? 'Over' haha.

There are no good guys or bad guys, it wasn't some Band of Brothers ra-ra comic book movie just alot of crazy, messed up monkies getting shoved around on the geopolitical chess board by forces they scarcely comprehend, same as its ever been. That part at the end with the Hitler montage really sticks out like a sore thumb but really no one comes off looking good here. Humanity has PTSD.

This movie isn't about high-powered, political hacks driving soldiers before them; it's about simple, innocent peasants being steam-rolled. They are clueless about the world beyond the next village, much less Moscow or Berlin. Forget about searching for bias; view this movie for what it was meant to be, a snapshot of a larger picture.

There aren't two sides to this movie.

This is the kind of stupidity we have to read on this boards infested with far-right morons. Too one-sided? A movie where the other side are the NAZIS??? What would this guy like the movie to show? How nice were the nazis? How humanitarian were their treatment of people, specially the ones not-graced with aryan blood? How they were so beautiful, so elegant, so inteligent, so joyful, so pious, so concerned about helping other people?

It's funny, though, 'cause I never saw, not a single time, anyone going to a US WW2 movie board complain about the one-sidedness of the story. But every movie that dares to show the suffering of soviet people during WW2, or how heroic the red army were during said war (and bear in mind that, contrary to the mythology created by Hollywood, who saved the world from the Nazis wasn't the American army, but the Soviet one), here comes a bunch of a protonazi anti-communists to cry about the script's injustice towards the nazis: "Oh, but the film was SO unfair to my dear nazis..."

And here am I, coming in here to try to discuss this beautiful but poignant movie and its themes, but instead having to deal with libertarian far-right incel ideology. What a tragedy.
