I love this movie, but it makes me sad to watch this now, knowing what happened to Kent Poole, who played Merle. Most of the actors were actually very good high-school (and college) basketball players and Poole was no exception. You can tell he was a ballplayer...that just comes across in the movie. Sad that he died the way he did...RIP. 😢
That was absolutely the worst written story I've ever read. I got about halfway through I reckon and just quit. Don't they require journalism degrees anymore??
Yes, I agree that it's not overly well-written. It's a very old article, though (I couldn't find anything recent about him), so I was thinking that the "formatting" may have been messed up a bit as a result of that.
shareI just miss the old days when stories started with the meat and potatoes (sorry vegans) and then added the pilaf and asparagus later in the story to flesh it out.
I will concede however that I am a very impatient reader...
I definitely understand where you're coming from. Journalism and writing skills are a "lost art" with the younger generations today (I see it with my three boys and their school assignments).
