Was Keith Gordon A Miscast?

When I look back on the film I kinda of feel that he was.

I think they should of casted a young Ben Stiller in the roll of instead.

reply

absolute tool he was; he is easily the worst part of this otherwise fine film. The scene with him laughing in class in cringe-worthy...it's THAT bad.

reply

I enjoyed this film. I think that Keith was fine in this, but I think he gave a better performance in "Christine" though.

reply

I liked him fine in this. I don't think he was miscast at all.

Ben stiller is soD amn annoying. He plays the part in everything he's in. I'd take Keith Gordon anytime over Dildo stiller!

reply

First off, it's "role". Second, yes, he was miscast.

He is a massive dork and would never be able to land that hot chick.

What would the difference between Keith Gordon and a young Ben Stiller be?

"In this scene, you will gargle with mouthwash! And...action!" 

reply

Not much.

Most of you are right Ben Stiller would of been a bad choice for the role.

Anyone know who would of been a better choice though?

reply

I never had a problem with Keith Gordon. I don't think Jason was supposed to be the "cool" kid. Keith's awkwardness is important to the role I think.

Keith Gordon was far too serious in the role though.

reply

Keith Gordon is likeable, but his acting is brutal. That's the best I can say about his craft.

reply

He played a similar role in Christine, a much different movie.

I guess that's how Hollywood saw him.

reply

I don’t think he was miscast. He was supposed to play a shy boy who was failing in school and in life. A huge part of it has to do with being overshadowed by his larger-than-life father.

If he had played the role with more intensity, it would not have made sense.

I think he did a fine job.
