I hated this part of the movie

Why would Leslie tell both Kevin and Alec that she loved them and that she could not decide what to do? Alec did not treat her right. He cheated on her and embarrassed her at the party in front of her friends by kicking her out of the apartment, only because she caught him in his lies. Kevin, however, adored her and would have treated her much better. I do not understand why some women are attracted to men who treat them horribly. If I was her, I would have chosen Kevin in a second.

"Duh. You're the idiot. Not me."

I have to agree. Although I love this movie, I thought it was the biggest cop-out at the end when she didn't choose. I felt she should've chosen Kevin as well.

But if Alec was the type of guy who turned her on, Kevin would never suffice. Not saying it's right (I'da been all over Kevin) but I thought it was realistic. She had had enough of men, period and wanted to live her life w/o a man. I totally get it.

Yeah Alec pulled the WORST asinine move on her. But I will say Kevin was pushing her to move in with him too fast. She still has to get over Alec and Kevin wanted her to move in together way too fast. I'd choose Kevin too, but make him get the fact that he was trying to move WAY too fast, and they needed to take it slow.

I'm sorry, but I did not like Kevin in any way shape or form.

He's in love with his best friend's girlfriend...ok. What does he do the second they break up? He sleeps with her when she's at her most vulnerable and insists they move in together the second Alec tries to call Leslie and make up with her.

This guy's an opportunist.

I'm not saying Alec is award winning, far from it. Kevin was definitely a tool.

If I were Leslie, I would probably move on with my life and leave these two guys behind.

Leslie was better off alone or with someone else.

Alec totally cheated on her, threw her out of their apartment, and acted like a macho jerk.

Kevin, while very loving towards her, was borderline obsessed and acted like he knew what was best for her all along...which was himself.

Like she says she was always someone's girlfriend. At the end she wanted to be Leslie and not Alec's girl or Kevin's crush.

I hope she didn't end up with either and found someone entirely new.

Yeah, I mean Kevin just wanted what was good for Kevin. Kevin was a smothering obsessive control freak.

Move in together? You slept with her once....how creepy!

I also think they way they handled it was dumb. Like "Oh OK, she's gonna choose neither of us we're all still great friends ha ha!"

And boy, Andrew McCarthy is such a drip.

I wonder if the attitude is she is trying to grow up herself and be responsible. Maybe she stays friends with them, maybe not. The thing with Kevin was that he loved her from afar but never admitted it nor intruded on her. It wasn't until that night when she fought with Alec and was at his apt. that she found out the secret. Maybe she just felt angry at what Alec did and decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

I wouldn't have chosen Kevin either. He was also a creep, like all the guys in this movie. And the women were foolish for letting them walk all over them. It was pretty appalling.
