The kids having clean water. Are they just lucky?

So the weird kids in the movie they live right at a beach shore or whatever and the water they get it looks clean etc. So are they lucky to even have clean water while the rest of Australia gets fallout infested water?

It's one of my favorite settings in the series but it's pretty implausible that the water is untainted by the fallout
