This Film Needs A "Final Cut" version

Like other films that have had more than 2 versions released, such as "Blade Runner", "Brazil" and even "Alexander", the "Final Cuts" of each of these films were undeniably the best versions of these films.

This is exactly what Ridley Scott's "Legend" needs, A Final Cut!!

Imagine Ridley re-cutting the film to combine the "director's cut" footage with Tangerine Dream's score!! That would be awesome!!
I'm not sure that this film is popular enough to re-cut the film yet another time, but I for one would buy it.

The Tangerine Dream score in the "Theatrical Version" is the only reason I prefer it to the "Director's Cut"

Certainly both versions have their positives and negatives, to combine just the positives of both versions would be phenomenal.
The length of the "director's cut" with the score of the "theatrical version" would certainly be my idea of the ultimate Final Cut of this film.

Do It Ridley!!!

I like Jerry Goldsmith's work, but watching the Director's Cut, the music reminds me too much of Star Trek.

I'm not sure if Tangerine Dream scored enough music to fit the director's cut. Remember they did the version just under 90 minutes while the longest known surviving version (director's cut) is 113 minutes.

Anyways, somebody on originaltrilogy.com did post about a fan edit where he added all the exclusive footage of the US cut back into the director's cut to create the longest possible version of the film. It apparently adds another 5 minutes to the 113 minute version.

I hope Ridley Scott would allow this extended edition to see a legal release alongside his other cuts, a sort of fan's choice version. It also would be nice to have the opportunity to get all 3 current versions in one set.

so
US theatrical version (not on UK bluray)
international theatrical cut (not on US dvd or blu-ray)
director's cut (available on blu-ray and region 1 dvd)
director's cut extended (footage found in either theatrical cut but not already in existing 113 min DC edited in)

If Ridley wanted to revisit this film and make some changes, he easily could. But perhaps he is either satisfied with the director's cut, or he's not tempted to make another version seeing how the film doesn't have a large enough following. Who knows.

Having said that, as someone who prefers the Tangerine Dream Score, I would absolutely love to see a version like that. I also believe they can find a way to fill the Director's Cut with Tangerine's marvelous score.

Put the tangerine score in the director's cut and it's perfect.

Definitely.

I would love to see their score put into the DC. Just my opinion, but their score really helps make this film. TD is awesome in general and this is my favorite of theirs just after Near Dark. Would love to see a fan edit as I also think another official re-edit is not happening.
