What happened to Shug's husband after the blow up at the dinner table when Celie left? He just seemed to disappear after that, unless I missed him somewhere.

Grady was not that important to the film, and therefore, I never questioned his whereabouts. But maybe he finally had enough of Shug and divorced her?
