I Don't Care What Avengers: Endgame Says
This is a great film.
It's original rather than the 21st sequel in a franchise adapted from a fifty-year-old comic-book. It's gracefully plotted and the time-travel shenanigans actually have consequences, rather than allowing for 'multiple time-line' cop-outs. And it uses effects very sparingly, rather than reducing all its characters to a bunch of CGI pixels whizzing through the air and, ironically for such smugly 'scientific' films, defying the laws of physics.
Also, it doesn't pander and worry what the Twitter PC Police will think.
Yes, this film gets attacked heavily a lot these days for racism, sexism, classism, conservatism and so on, but speaking as an anti-racist, feminist left-winger I didn't give a shit about any of that when I was five, and I still don't care, because irrespective of politics THIS IS A GREAT FRICKIN FILM. I'm just so grateful Twitter didn't exist in 1985!
