Kirk and his crew seeing the Enterprise wreakage burning up in the planet's atmosphere

To those who think it's not the same ship from the original series look at Kirk's reaction seeing the destroyed Enterprise falling from the sky, was it the look of someone who just blow up a ship he'd only been on a few times? or was it someone saying goodbye to a old friend?

The destruction of the Enterprise is truly the stand out scene of the whole movie, it's become a commonplace in Trek culture for the Enterprise to be destroyed and replaced by a new one.
