In movie promotion there’s always been a vast chasm between what’s promised and what’s delivered. Sometimes it’s an honest problem with logistics; that is to say, the production hit an unavoidable snag and deadlines or low budgets get in the way. Ad campaigns commence months or years before a projected release date and the snags are unforseeable.
Or on the other hand, sometimes it’s willful misrepresentation (lies!). The movie industry has always attracted a large number of hucksters.
