retrospect article: 2010: The Year We Make Contact – The Best Movie You Never Saw

It is a good movie. Maybe one that was not widely seen, or understood, as it seems to have depended on seeing, understanding and appreciating the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the book written from the movie ;-) , as well as maybe understanding a bit about the author, Arthur C. Clarke.

It is kind of a story about substituting space aliens for God, or karma, and fixing humanity, or at least keeping us from screwing everything in the universe up as we have here.
