Who else loves the song 'The Midnight Special'?

And now always connects it with this movie? I know I do.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I'm a huge CCR fan. To me they are the best rock band ever. There are many of their songs I'd put ahead of Midnight Special...mostly their OWN songs.

As a matter of fact, I like Johnny Rivers cover of it better than CCRs. CCRs certainly does rock more, but I just like Rivers' version better. Maybe because I heard that one first and many times before CCR did it..

check out little richard's version of this! on his 1970's recordings that were released on cd in 2016, the version played in this movie was the one i had been aware of for years then some of little richard's 1970's albums were recently released on cd where a version of this was featured, if that's to your liking, i can say that probably my favorite music recording of all time is little richard's 1986 album "lifetime friend" which opening track features the song that i've read little richard had a bit of a comeback hit with, which actually is another version than featured on the soundtrack to the movie "down and out in beverly hills" recorded in the same year. man, i've wished so bad that little richard would make a comeback in the 21st century as some other rock n roll pioneers from the 1950's, he sounds great on the few guest appearances he's made in later years on albums along with other artists like his version of cash's "get rhythm" (album kindred spirits, 2002), i probably heard that version as it was released and i still can't get enough of it!!! i like cash, but little richard sure can transform any tune to something else! another amazing tune they've both recorded is "rock island line". anyway, since we are sharing anecdotes, i was in a similar situation as the fella in this segment of the movie, and the stranger giving me a lift played this tune on his cd. quite a coincidence. "i heard there is no such thing as a coincidence" - twilight zone.

you zero in on the heart,
twinkle your eye and make a hurricane start,
with ease blow it around,
as i cant fight what kind of being youve got inside,
using the most beautiful woman as disguise,
she blows me to the east,
she blows me to the west,
move my soul like spring air insect,
maple leaf on windy autumn day,
in any weather created by madeleine,
plays on my chest for a laugh,
till i worry for my heart.
