how did Gus know Superman's secret identity?

Right at the end when Gus tells the workers 'oh you don't know about me and Superman' he pulls his shirt back just like Clark does as he knows Clark/Superman's secret identity. How did he know this?

He doesn't know Clark and Superman are the same. It was really just an in-joke.

Good point, I actually just realized that it makes no sense because, as far as most people in this movie’verse know, Superman has no secret identity.

Otherwise he’d wear a mask
