No more Americans in space.

Obama ended the manned space program. Only the Russians have a ticket for the big ride.

He put a stop to these dotty old way to expensive space shuttles, but not an end to the manned space program. Here is NASA's new manned space craft, the Orion:

True But under Bush's plan the shuttle replacement would have been ready around the same time as the shuttle was taken out of service. Though of course there was no guarantee that it would have went as planned, but that was the plan. It was Pres Obama that canceled the Orion/Ares program even after a successful launch.
Not trying to sound like a know-it all, but no shuttle orbiter has failed. The Challenger was destroyed by and SRB failure. The damage to Columbia that lead to its breakup was due to a failure of the external fuel tank insulation. I find it ironic that of the 3 main components of the shuttle,The SRBs, the External Tank the Orbiter, its the 2 that had catastrophic failures that are being re-purposed for the SLS, along with the Orbiter main engines.
And true the American manned program is not canceled and hopefuly with the next year Americans will fly in space on American Spacecraft/
But right now we are paying the Russians to take us to a Space Station that we largely funded an built, and to me that is a National disgrace.

Thanks to President Trump, I'm watching the arrival of the American Space-X Crew 1 vehicle at the International Space Station right now, on NASA TV. Three of the four astronauts in the vehicle are Americans.

I'd say what we have now is because of and in spite of Trump's activities in office.

Trump is a huge space enthusiast. Obama was, too. But only for the Russians, Chinese and Iran.
