What if Luke Skywalker Died in Return of the Jedi? - FanScription

With The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars was taken in a much darker direction. When Return of the Jedi hit theaters in 1983, one would assume they’d follow through on how bleak that first sequel got. However, what was released had a mix of tones that ranged from The Emperor forcing Luke to fight his own father to...cute little teddy bears called the Ewoks easily killing Storm Troopers... Is there a way to fix Jedi to match the tone of Empire in a more logical progression? The answer is yes, but there needs to be more of a sacrifice from the protagonists. Namely, Luke Skywalker. Rob Walker brings you his version of Return of the Jedi in this month’s FanScription!

But if you kill Luke, then Vader's redemption and sacrifice have no meaning!

No, it'd just be one more boneheaded misstep, from the man who let Palpatine trick him into becoming a Sith.

He wouldn't have to drink green alien titty milk in the sequels.
