Why I like this movie

I'm not going to kid anyone, this is a bad movie. So bad its almost good! The special effects are pretty cheesy and so is the acting. The storyline is a cool idea but that doesnt help this film. The music is also cheesy and plays at the strangest moments like when Yor is just running around not doing anything heroic. Judge for yourself, but I warn you, this is a b-movie lover's film.

for a kid seeing this at the driv in which is how i first saw this film it was great. and yes its low budget but this movie represents everything i loved as a kid. robots, laser guns, dinosaurs, hero's, space ships, cool evil bad guys. it is a film where you just make your popcorn sit back and be a child again.

Yor.. he`s the man!

I love this movie! This one, and Planet of Dinosaurs, for its priceless one-liners. Watched them often when I was a kid in the 80s.. I thought that PoD was particularly awesome. Can`t say my taste in movies has improved much over the years..

Anyway, back to Yorrr.. I`m watching it now actualy hehe.. I never realized it back then, but watching it now I kind of feel sorry for Rebb during the opening credits, because they make him run like forever through some godforsaken desert, and it actually looks like Rebb was having a tough time of it too! I particularly like his little `girlie` hand steadying movement when he climbs down a slope hahaha Ah well, I enjoy that it looks like Yor is having a great time running around, always happy. must be because of his theme song..

And I was just thinking, about that weird ceremony in the village at the beginning of the movie, well, those children being lifted into the air look decidedly unhappy.. kinda reminds me of a cult!

..it`s like Yor is auditioning for the Olympic highjump or something, when he`s fighting that triceratops and jumping over its horns.. and boy, he sure looks as surprised as I was when he finally kills the beast!

also, Kalaa look ridiculously hot for an 80s movie.. also looks like she`s wearing Ugg boots.

I also love the old guy, although I`ve often wondered if he had Alzheimer`s or something, because he always looks like he doesn`t know WTF`s going on haha

I heard that there was an insanely long version of Yor out there, and as one commentator said, my mind reels at the thought of 4 hours of Yor!

I want my own theme song, just like Yor has.. so cool!

god help me..

It's awesome, something completely fantastic happens in it for pretty much all the film.

"Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah!"

Oh yeah, this movie is pure 80s fun. I used to love catching films like this at a Saturday matinee. It would make a great double feature with "Eliminators." Yor and Mandroid need to team up!

There's so much to love about this movie - including one of my favorite quotes of all time:

"Help me cut the choice meats."

I think I would be so much more successful in life if, every time I did something awesome, my theme song would come on. HE'S THE MAAAAAN!

This move is a B lovers dream and one of Reb Browns best. His side kick Pak is really cool too!
