Me too, it was a really nice house in a nice neighborhood.

The house is one of the highlights of the movie for me; they did a fantastic job of making it feel authentic and lived-in, like it was cozy enough for you to feel like you lived there. I agree; the house had some cool, unique features like the big kitchen with the breakfast nook/triangular table and that beautiful hanging Tiffany lamp. Also love Elliott's room and that cool walkthrough closet with the "sunburst" window.

I dunno. The ET house was kinda dark and we never see a clear image of their living room. I much prefer the Freeling Cuesta Verde house from the similar California suburb in "Poltergeist"
