I'm an avid fan of Class of 1984, but something which has quite often bothered me is the 'little known' actors in the film. I am especially interested in finding out who the young woman was who walked into the "office" and stripped, then asked "So, do I get the job?". She's always amazed me, but more than likely has slipped into film-oblivion like so many others of the time. Anyone with some ideas, please let me know.
Actually, she quit acting after this one role, because they pressured her into stripping completely naked when she 100% didn't want to. The Lisa Langlois confirmed in interviews years later that she felt really bad for the girl, that she was literally shaking while doing that scene. The experience obviously turned her off from acting completely, which is a damn shame.
I'm no fan of censorship or whatever, but BS like that should never happen. If an actor doesn't want to be topless or nude, they shouldn't have to. The scene didn't require it at all, or they could have gotten someone who was willing to strip.
"If an actor doesn't want to be topless or nude, they shouldn't have to. "
100%
But what's weird is the role is ONLY that scene. So... how come she did not know that?
If you're three months into a shooting, you've got a decent role, lot of scenes, and then the director/produced pressures you to take off your clothes for one scene, I understand the dilemma.
I agree completely! An actress or actor should never be pressured or forced into getting naked for a role. The director needs to read her behavior and act accordingly - if she’s very apprehensive and nervous then call it off . This scene did not even need her to get naked
