A dime to call the cops

Do you really need a dime to call the cops in America? Is it not a free call in an emergency.

BTW a very entertaining movie.

Yeah what was up with that haha?

This was a pretty good movie and Karin Mani is one hot woman it sucks that she really did not do any other movies

I must become someone else. I must become something else.

she should have made more movies.

I agree. She was hot and could have had a long career in the B movie biz. I guess she thought otherwise and called it quits after Avenging Angel. I wonder what she is doing today.

Long live the 70s!

Yes, in 1984, you really did need a dime to call the police in the United States. Back then, most people carried change (dimes, quarters) just in case they would need to use a pay phone. The only other alternative was to borrow a dime from somebody else.

BTW. I agree with you that it was a very entertaining movie. Karin Mani was excellent in the lead role. I thought that she showed strong acting skills and successfully conveyed a wide range of emotions. I was surprised and disappointed to read that she only had one more movie credit after Alley Cat. With her stunning good looks and impressive acting abilities, she seemed destined for a successful movie career (at least as a lead actress in B-Movies similar to this one).

Didn't 911 work on a pay phone, even without a dime? I know 0 would get you an operator and you could probably ask to be transferred to 911.

reply

911 may not have been everywhere in 1984.
