Should have been the last with Michael

I used to buy into the idea that Michael and Loomis could have survived the hospital explosion at the end of the movie, but on recent rewatch I noticed there is no way that could be possible given how much gas was in the room when Loomis lit the place on fire and that we clearly see Michael burn to a crisp. There is no way it would make sense for Loomis and Michael to still be alive (even with severe burns) in Halloween 4 and later films.

It should have been the last one with Michael. I can give the benefit of the doubt to Michael surviving the fire, but not Loomis. Loomis was definitely blown away. It was supposed to end after Halloween II.

That's why Halloween 3 has nothing to do with Michael and then everyone bitched and moaned about no Michael so they just came back in Halloween 4 with a bullshit reason of "they survived the fire LOL!" and that's basically it.

I'm glad Halloween 4 exists, though. It gives me peace of mind in dire times.
