shareIt's a decent film I like it but truth be told it's probably for slasher fans only.
For 1981 slasher films (peak of the sub-genre) I'd rank them like so;
Tier 1;
- The Funhouse
- The Burning
- Just Before Dawn
- Friday the 13th Part II
- Halloween II
- My Bloody Valentine
Tier 2;
- Night School
- Eyes of a Stranger
- The Prowler
- Student Bodies (This one is a parody but it's hilarious, kind of hard to rank it given it's heavy humor.)
Tier 3;
- Bloody Birthday
- Happy Birthday to Me
- Graduation Day
- Hell Night
- Nightmare
- Butcher, Baker Nightmare Maker
- Deadly Blessing
Tier 4;
- X-Ray (Hospital Massacre)
- Madman
- Final Exam
Honestly I enjoyed all the films above, I'm a big fan of the sub-genre.
I agree with your top tier choices but I do enjoy Nightmare and Butcher, Baker Nightmare Maker more than some of those. Thanks for taking the time to break it down with the list.

I would probably put The Prowler in the top tier just for the gore. It's a Zito/Savini team up, so I can forgive some of its structural flaws (the middle drags a bit).
I would also make a Tier 5 and put Final Exam and Graduation Day in it. I think they are the very worst of the lot.
