Jerry Goldsmith

Goldsmith really went all out with his final Omen score. So thick & lush. Absolutely dark & brooding with his AntiChrist theme, & then majestically beautiful with his nazarene theme.

reply

Yep. This is the only Omen score with a theme for the forces against the antichrist and Goldsmith's music nearly saves the movie from its rather pathetic ending.

reply

Exactly. Goldsmith with his last Omen score was finally able to do Good vs Evil musically. Like you said, before this one it had only been darker/Antichrist side of things. You could tell he really cared here.

Again like you said the ending was so rushed & sloppy, but luckily they had Goldsmith to help cover up the cracks.

Goldsmith (criminally, but it's The Oscars) only won one Oscar in his life, and it was for "The Omen." So, even though the film is shite, Goldsmith went ALL OUT on this final film's score. So incredible! And, he got to use his favorite ensemble to record it with, The National Philharmonic in Britain.
