One of the best horror film intros ever...

I really liked how the film just straight up jumped into an aerial view of the amazing landscape, combined with that super eerie music. Everything about the intro was flawless.

And then leading into the interview scene with Jack...was even better.

As an avid movie-watcher and aspiring writer / filmmaker...I can't help but notice these small and subtle details. Some people say that Stanley Kubrick is an overrated filmmaker. But still, I think he had a good eye when it came to certain scenes. He captured things in a unique way.

If anyone else can relate to what I'm saying...?

CD, I just never have gotten why so many people think this movie is anything special.

I'm partial to 1 part though. Before they travel up there "Wendy" is in the apartment and the doctor (Anne Jackson) has examined the boy for fainting and is talking to her alone in the living room. "Wendy" is telling the tale and finally has to come around to the incident where "Jack" broke the boy's arm. The camera is on "Wendy"---then moves to Jackson. The look on the Jackson's face is just fantastic. She's absolutely incredulous. It's a moment.
