Clive's Hits

Raise the Titanic was one of Clive's best books. The movie clearly didn't do it justice. I could spend hours going on and on about missed opportunities.

Anyway, suppose you get a purist who loves Clive's stories (and who doesn't want to fundamentally change them):

Raise the Titanic-definitely re-do

The Mediterranean Caper- the dogfight between the Catalina and bi-plane just too much fun to pass up.

Night Probe-this movie would shake up a whole bunch of people.

Deep Six- the battle scene would be one of cinema's greatest moments.

Atlantis Found- this movie would cause debate that we need.

Of course...and I'm sure that Anne Archer would have preferred Clive's piss-poor misogynistic dialogue and women the world over would have rejoiced when they saw that Dana gets them out of the jam by flashing the Russians, then does it with Dirk Pitt on a bed in a first class room.

Eek.

Cyclops - Moon colony; Castro assassination plot; Bermuda Triangle; treasure of El Dorado. It's too good to pass up.

Inca Gold - Probably the closest in tone to the spirit of Indiana Jones or Romancing the Stone.
