Why are they remaking this?

Oh My god the remake doesnt stand to the original.

Heath Ledger Come Back,
This isn't funny, at all.

I'm losing faith in the film industry with all the remakes coming out.

I think they should cast Kate Hudson in the remake. That would sum up Hollywood's current status. A complete lack of imagination.

Why do people try to make out that remakes are a "new" thing?
They have been remaking films for decades.

Infact, when you work out how many films are made today compared to say the 70's. There were more remakes made in the 70's than there are today.
Remakes have been a staple of film-making for AGES...stop going on about it.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he is God.

If a movie like this had to be done over, instead of the spoiled rich girl, how about the street thug who thinks they are just so tough (of course with their gang to back them up)and they get sent to the army?

And if they did it 20 years ago, that woulda been a perfect Vin Diesel role!

Is Emma Stone, not Goldie Hawn's own daughter, the actual "modern day Goldie Hawn"?

Because they cannot come up with any new ideas.

Maybe the remake will be better. The original is only an average film at best.

They can remake films if it did not do well in the box office or become classics. Pvt Benjamin is more a cult classic after years went by.

While I think it will be god awful to the majority of the film-going demographics, I can see why those in charge view a remake of this with Rebel Wilson in the title role would be a “perfect” vehicle for her. They’ll re-write most of it to fit the typical raunchiness and over-the-top (not necessarily a bad thing) of Wilson’s characters. (And likely drive it much more unrealstic than the 1980 film).

This will be aimed for those that like the Rebel Wilson-type comedy and will be successful with that group, but likely little with the “over 30” crowd.
