Antarctica

Antarctica was the only safe place.

The Antarctic is "chill"... until THEY show up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_the_Mountains_of_Madness

Hey! I have a HP Lovecraft book and I’m going to check and see if this story is in there. It’s a collection of short stories so this might be included. I read several of them in college when I rented an apartment in an old house built in the late 1800’s. The house was damn spooky and made creepy sounds. I don’t remember the name of the Lovecraft story but it told of some guy seeing a newborn infant walking upright in a strange town. I remember it scaring the shit out of me. Reading in that creepy house didn’t help either.

Big time recommended! I love Lovecraft.

There was a big budget movie adaptation of Mountains of Madnesss, to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, in preproduction for a long time that was ultimately cancelled not too long ago. After seeing the recent Color Out of Space, I'm pretty ok with that. As much as I love HPL, it's mildly frustrating that no one ever succeeds at capturing the essence of his work in films.

Oh that's perfect... I would be thinking "The Rats in the Walls", for sure.

Could it be "The Dunwich Horror"?

I’m going to have to dig that book up and skim that story and see if that’s the one.
