Bo Derek

Besides this movie being good was one of those tearful flicks... They just don't have actors like these anymore at all... 1979/1980 Were unfortunately the best years of Bo Derek in film in terms of her beauty and meaning... Her dead husband John Derek ruined her career and her life frankly. She could made more good films but Tarzan was the beginning of the end. All though she looked good in them. She just seems to a beautiful almost sad person inside and out. And maybe happy too. But very laid back... Although this is speculation. I rare to see a good film and most of them were from the whole 70's into the 80's until teen comedy took over and films like this suffered.
Now 2016 Bo will be 60 and to see her at this age I'm happy for her and devastated at the same time. We'll never see that beauty like the young Bo Derek ever again.

Bo was strikingly beautiful when young, but those early films of hers were nothing more than soft porn.

Bad movies and bad acting. Shame she didn't choose to be a model instead.

I don't think Miss Derek cared for one minute about acting or her career. She was apparently very happy with her husband, and sounds like she would have been content living on their ranch together with horses, forever.

He sounds like a creep to me, but women loved him (I guess!) He married 4 beautiful women (three of them international sex symbols) and dumped them all, except for the one he died married to.

I always viewed Bo as a casual opportunist who fell into fortune with John Derek. Without him she would never been a movie icon during her brief stint. She didn't have the acting chops to compete with Jessica Lange, Kathleen Turner, Debra Winger, or Sigourney Weaver.

Even though she was a sex symbol she couldn't even perform at the level of other contemporary sex symbols like Kim Basinger, Kathleen Turner, Sharon Stone, and Melanie Griffith.
