Would you have liked a different movie just as much or better?

I would appreciate the film a lot more if they did away with some of the absurdist crap and concentrated more on the music. Having the Blues Brothers perform a whole 5 (??) songs and a couple of clips from some real blues icons? That's about 8 total songs worth. It really could have pumped this aspect of the film up a notch, IMHO.

So what impact do you think adding more music (even at the expense of cutting back the final chase scene a few minutes) would have had on the film?

If you want more songs, buy the album. The absurdity is what makes the movie work. There are two Blues Brothers albums to my memory. The rest of the music is in the original musician's respective catalogs.

There is no point in changing anything in Blues Brothers. The movie is perfect.
