did anyone feel sorry for Bob & The Good Ole Boys?

Did anyone feel sorry for Bob & The Good Ole Boys when they've gotten arrested by the police and when the police officers crashed into Bob's truck as well? I personally did and I didn't think they've needed to make Bob & The Good Ole Boys as the villains, I thought Bob had every right to be upset with the Blues Brothers and the band and the Good Ol' Boys never had any reason to get angry with the Blues Brothers.

I love this movie but this scene never made any sense.

A six pack of beer cost $3 something in 1980. Even assuming a markup to $2 a beer that would mean the band drank 150 beers? How is that even possible for them to drink 15 beers each AND play AND not have to go pee between every song?

Bob should be thankful that the Blues Brothers showed up to save his club. You saw how the crowd reacted when they heard music they didn't like. Imagine if Bob had to go up to the stage and tell them there was going to be NO BAND that night. They would have burned his club down.

The Good Ole Boys should be thankful as well. They arrived after everyone had gone home, did they expect to play in the middle of the night in an empty club? The Blues Brothers saved their reputation by playing a great set. All they had to do is go along with the switch and their reputation would have been saved. Did they expect to get paid for showing up hours late?

if it makes you feel any better bob returns in "blues brothers 2000" about two decades later, he had pretty much forgot them by then until... bob: - "say... don't i know you boys from somewhere?", band member: - "check, please.". you know how you can watch a movie a ton of times and still notice something new, i just realised what a funny of a part it is where "the good ol' boys" along with bob, just one of the many different crowds ending up chasing the blues brothers and the bluesmobile on the highway, after elwood has put glue on their pedal, their big clumsy looking trailer speeding through passing the police cars and even passes by the blues brothers before crashing into a river, and the look on napiers face right before they hit the water is priceless. all the years i've seen the movie the humour of that scene had sort of just passed 😀 me by.
