Will we ever see this on DVD?

I have some old worn out video tapes that I taped of Television but I want....the DVDs. Anyone know where we can write to show that we are interested?

The best place to go is:

TVSHOWSONDVD.COM

On this site, you can vote for shows you would like to see released to DVD. The site submits members' votes to the owner of the show in question, thus telling the production company how high the interest is for their shows. When enough interest is shown, they'll release a show to DVD. If you wish to write the shows' owners, I believe they have the addresses where to send your letter.

It also has a news section that gives regular updates on shows to be released, release dates, etc. It's a really good site for findings currently on DVD as well as those that are pending release, and any other news on just about any TV show.

Actually, I think there is some news there about a possible release for Bosom Buddies, possibly in early 2005.

Great show that is surprisely funny. I saw two episodes the other day on TBS, and was cracking up. This is some of Tom Hanks best stuff. Plus, it has a great and funny cast, needs to get on DVD already!

There hasn't been any recent news on this coming out on DVD. It was suppose to come out last year (2005), but it's still in a holding pattern.

Go to "tvshowsondvd.com" and vote for it! This show is a great classic and deserves a decent DVD release!!!

God, I hope so. I have all 4 volumes that they released on VHS and a few episodes that I taped when the repeats aired on TBS. I'd love to see commentaries by Hanks and new interviews about the show with him. I loved the show then. Love it even more with Hanks' stardom lifted into the stratosphere since.

Ahhh, I'd love to have 'Bosom Buddies' on DVD. :)
That was one of my most favorite TV shows ever.
It's sad that they don't show reruns anymore.
Sigh. Hopefully we can get a box set of these shows soon!!

Cindy: "....I belong to a choral group and I worship the Devil"
Henry in a euphoric state, not really paying attention while talking to Kip and Sonny: "I said that too...likes music..."
Kip: "I'm sorry...you, you belong to a choral group and what?"
Cindy: "I worship Satan, you know Beelzebub? Prince of Darkness? I can't wait for Henry to meet him!"
Henry (still distracted): "Oh Cindy, I want to meet all your friends" (To Kip and Sonny)"Cindy also likes to ski, so tomorrow we're going up to Vermont.. take a little ride". (pause)...(looks up at Kip)"What the Hell did she say!?!"

I hope this comes to DVD soon....my VHS recordings from 1984-1985 are getting mighty worn. That was back when owning a VCR was quite a luxury...if you can believe that. Bosom Buddies had just went into syndication from its 1980-1982 run, so I recorded (and subsequently memorized) every episode.
One of my all-time favorite shows. I thought it funny too when just a couple years later after they worked on the movie Volunteers, Tom married Rita Wilson who played Henry's Devil-worshipping girlfriend Cindy in the video dating episode.
Ok fans, quiz time...what was Ruth's number at the dating service?

Interesting fact: The actress who plays the "satanist" is Rita Wilson, who later played Frasier's mother and a look-alike girl-friend, and is most famous for being Mrs. Tom Hanks!

This is the best DVD news in years. Really looking forward to seeing uncut episodes instead of the "syndication cut" episodes I have memorized. Thanks for the update!

CBS DVD, distributed by Paramount, released both seasons of "Bosom Buddies" on Region 1 DVD in 2007. The original theme song "My Life" by Billy Joel was replaced with "Shake Me Loose", a song penned by show creator Chris Thompson, which was used during the show's syndication run. Many of the musical numbers featured during the show's run are edited or eliminated altogether from the DVD releases. Notable in this vein are the songs "Yakkity Yak" from the episode "Call Me Irresponsible", "Chances Are" from "All You Need is Love" and "Rock and Roll Heaven" from "Hildy's Dirt Nap". This problem also affected the release of "The Odd Couple".

I bought both seasons on DVD a few weeks ago and just finished the final episode. I wish I'd just let my memories lie. I remember loving the show when it was originally broadcast, thought it was totally hilarious when I was 11-12. Watching it now, I'm taken aback by the lousy, lame writing. My rose-tinted nostalgia had me thinking it would hold its own next to the classics. Not even close.
