Was Cloris Leachman a good addition to the show?

Once Charlotte Rae left the series, they brought in Cloris Leachman to replace her as her sister 'Beverly Ann'. I never took a liking to her in this role (and I love Cloris Leachman in just about everything). I'd rather have seen Cloris as one of the 'Golden Girls' back then, instead of this show.

Not sure who would have been good in the role (and if we really needed 'a sister' instead of 'an outsider'), but Cloris wasn't the one.

Maybe an outsider.....why not Mrs Garretts son returning as the carpenter who rebuilds things. And then they give him space for HIS business in what used to be Edna's edibles and a room to live.

Edna realizing there is an exit..leaves. Unless the girls are trying out being in a convent I am not sure why they need her sister watching her. They are all adults now.

They mentioned her son's several times in the series prior to beverly ann. And they showed both sons. They would have been more convincing as characters to bring on. And they are around the girls age anyways. Nothing's going to happen.

Yes. I liked Beverly Ann. And I thought she was a good addition to the show.
