NObody likes reboots..but...

It's sometimes fun to just kick the ideas around.

If they rebooted this show, what would be your ideas?

All girls school again? All boys this time? Or make it a coed boarding school?

Assuming they would do it, would you bring back any of the old characters?

I'd like to see a coed boarding school that takes in at risk/troubled students with Jo as the headmaster. I could see her as the "tough but fair" type who really cares about the students, getting involved with them to help the solve their issues.

Either that, or a coed performing arts high school run by Tootie.

Well they were trying to do a spin off with Blair as the head (last episode last season). Eastland becomes coed in order to stay open and blair does not know what she is doing, letting the newly enrolled kids run amok.

So she would probably need jo around--to straighten things out--at least for the first season. Blair had the money but Jo had the smarts.

I think it could have been a good show. The problem is, most reboots are ruined with political correctness.

....that earlier idea building on Eastland going coed actually would have been a good show. Or seeing Blair and Jo team up again.

But somebody (unfortunately) got the idea now to do an all boys boarding school. They did not figure out the attempted spin off the first time around (yes it was tried) with the military boys already flopped. Saw the episode and it was BORING.

And then these types of shows are supposed to subtly promote the 1 percent. The original series started airing aired when Reagan ran for office...the reboot was supposed to start airing now when Trump was in office. Coincidence, I think not.

Well. Reagan had been very popular having once been screen actors guild president, and Trump was actually not, constantly being under investigation and NOT knowing how to work the media to his advantage. Trump constantly threatened the media---including people who are actually supposed to be on his side. He was banned from social media.

So yeah, Hollywood may be having second thoughts selling him to the masses. They're even removing his star from the walk of fame. I don't think this series is getting off the ground in it's current incarnation.

I have not seen anything else about this proposed remake. I am assuming it's dead as a concept.

Probably should go back to Blair and Jo teaming up and doing something together with the co-ed school.
