First and only EPIC superhero movie

This movie tried, and succeeded, to build a comic book guy wearing red speedos into a serious character of epic stature.
The whole film is one foot above anything else after it because of its earnest and effective strive.
Nothwithstanding its faults and misses, this is true epic.

Have to agree. They did it with conviction, and it worked. They didn't try to make a joke out of it and put him in black rubber.

Yes, they made many great choices, like the intro with Brando, the music, the pacing and lenght of the movie, Reeve.
And many scenes really deliver on those premises.
