I have to say, a little disappointing that Ken Kercheval became so silly so early on in Dallas - he was much better when he made Cliff smart and determined.. His delivery, facial reactions etc. are kind of embarrassing at times and really detract from the drama.. Seems like he kind of gave up.. At least Larry Hagman kept things punchy for a few more seasons (up to Season 11?)

shareWell, to be fair, back then the ratings were in decline in season 9, so it wasn't in its prime. And none of the cast knew the show would run for another 5 seasons.

shareI know I am probably the only one but I like the character of Cliff and think Ken Kercheval is very underrated. I prefer Cliff when he acts silly, it's his comical side I find most amusing. He loved him in Dream season, I thought he was hilarious. I don't think KK gets enough credit. I love some of the scenes he has with Jordan, Marielee Stone and Jeremy Wendell.
Yes I agree Ken doesn't get as much credit as the rest of the cast considering he was there the whole time.. I think he was a great actor for sure, he could definitely be funny but perhaps it would have fit better (just my opinion) on a sitcom or big screen movie..

What purpose did Cliff serve? Jeremy Wendell was a much better foil for Ewing Oil.
