how did the Emperor dissolve the senate exactly?

did he use acid?

reply

yes, Politichloric Acid.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"

reply

Midichloric acid?

I'm an atheist. I point and laugh at religious people.

Suddenly thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of Senators, found themselves without a job--and probably for good reason. It was the senate that allowed the Republic to crumble with its rampant corruption, in the first place.

reply

He just changed the locks on the doors in the middle of the night.

reply

I always imagined he killed them all in the room they were in... then after seeing the Senate in the trilogy made it more impressive Palpatine killing them all in one felled swoop in such a huge arena like we were shown... then seeing Anakin/Vader killing off the Trade Federation head aliens in III was possibly a similar method Palpatine used. Force closing all the doors and force zapping them all at once in the Senate. Still impressive. Thus 'dissolving' the Senators and the Senate was no more.

reply

Probably the same way that he created the empire originally. He just told everyone that the Senate was dissolved and that the senators no longer have power.

Whos going to stop him? He is in control of essentially a dictatorship. The Senate has no legal recourse to fight the decision. Their only other option is to use force to oppose the decision. If they don't have the strength to do that or are unwilling to do so, the Emperor wins.

reply

I think he used Crazy Larry's Dissolving Juice.

You guys obviously did not read the most recent Emperor comic book issues. It's revealed that Palpatine is in-fact, a very good friend of Toon Town's Judge Doom and gets a huge supply of Dip in order to dissolve the Senate.

reply

Well if Palpatine locked the Imperial Senate Doors, Rome style, sent in all the stormtroopers and killed everyone in there, then it's no wonder the Rebellion gained so much support after ANH, besides the Death Star and Alderaan destruction.... Palpatine's an idiot if he did that.

I don't think that happened though, otherwise Bail Organa would have died on Imperial Center, he dies on Alderaan.

That said, I'd love to see a Bail spinoff movie, Jimmy Smits is a fantastic actor and a little more insight into the events after III before RO would be great.

When Disney reboots episodes 1 thru 6, I'm sure this scene will be included. Usually reboots are not too good but this would be the exception

reply

Yes, he probably used senatacidic acid to dissolve the senators.
