Barbara Bach Can't Act

She was dreadful. she made Roger Moore and Richard Kiel look look like Olivier and Burton!!!!

Have just finished reading 'Bond on Bond' by Roger Moore.
Within the book he intimates that BB wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box.

"Everybody in the WORLD, is bent"

Compared to some of Roger's other Bond women like Britt Ekland, Gloria Hendry, and Tanya Roberts, Barbara was great. She was an ok actress, and her acting never sank to really bad.

I just saw this movie and although I expected the franchise to be utter garbage, I was still horrified anyone okayed her "performance". Dreck nec plus ultra. I'm no great fan of Moore's but I felt real pity watching him bounce lines off this plank.

reply

Disagreed. But at least you didn't say she was "wooden" like most morons.

reply

She indeed WAS very wooden.

I'll give you an example of Barbara Bach being wooden in this movie. When Roger Moore comes in to untie her (after dispatching Stromberg and Jaws), she quite timidly asks about what happened to Stromberg without any conviction or urgency. You can tell when an actor gives a flat and there I say wooden performance when they often talk in a hesitant, monotone (as if they're reciting their lines phonetically).

reply

Agreed, while I thought her character was well written all she did was recite her lines off a script and it sounded so terrible. Oh well at least she was good eye candy.
