not prophetic

just shows that nothing has really changed over the years. same as Charlie Brown Christmas commenting on the commercialization of Christmas in the early 60's. The good ole' days are a myth.

Just saw this film for the first time. It's pretty good from a drama standpoint. Not sure that I found the story all that compelling but it's got some top notch acting going on, that's for sure. Although, a bit over-the-top in some scenes, there are some very good performances in this movie.

That being said, news has become worse in my view than what we saw in this movie. Beale was just a nut-job, now we have guys that are actually sane yet they can't stop making shit up.

Perhaps, nothing has changed in this sense but I am not sure what this has to do with the good ole'days. I would take living in the 70s again over what we have today. I still say the 70s was a more liberal time than what we live in today. Now days, everyone is a member of a cult.

Anyhow, I'll give Network a solid 7 out of 10. Good but not great...

So true

2022 is more repressive than the Victorian Age once you really analyze modern culture.

Kwest,

You think so? The V era was probably not as cultish as what we're dealing with today but generally speaking, people still had a lot to learn back then.

I sometimes think the internet has actually made people dumber when it should have had the opposite effect. Lol
