Creepy Martin Sheen character

He made my skin crawl when he came in and started his non-stop chatting up Jodie, reminding me of another slimy child molester in the "Tales of the Unexpected". The episode was "Flypaper", an understated English horror tale. Watch the perv (ably played by Alfred Burke) starting at 10:32 and see if it isn't the same pattern.

>>Rotten Beethoven!<< yeah would be interesting to have Rynn with some voiceovers too.

That was creepy indeed. The bus drives on the wrong lane! just kidding.

Thank you, great and related stuff. Obviously made to scare children back then. Certainly me, with that evil flypaper psycho terror. Super late 70s look and feel. The bus and a trailer are even smaller sets than TLG's house for scary things to happen.

I love Martin Sheen as an actor and real life activist. I'm so glad I didn't see his Frank character first.

Frank was hella creepy. Even before knowing he got caught dragging a girl into some bushes. He had the confidence of someone who knew he could get away with anything because he had in the past.

Having the bitchy piece of work Mrs. Hallet for a mother didn't help.

It made the bit when Mario got a measure of revenge against him all the better. His reaction of tears and rage fitted the character and his age perfectly as you could tell his emotions were dialed to 11 while the cruel, confident Hallett was suddenly on the business end of a very sharp blade.

Exactly. People who prey on the very young, very old, weaker or disabled are usually cowards at heart. That's why they don't go after someone who is a fair fight.

I bet Frank thought he had it made since he was only up against a teenage girl and a crippled teenage boy. He got a fight he didn't expect. Too bad Frank didn't buy a clue and just stayed away. But vulnerable little outsider Rynn was just too tempting to his perverted little heart.

Yes, I've watched just that scene over and over, beginning when Frank trips Mario, who grabs the tablecloth, bringing all the plates etc onto himself.

The actual sword play is flawless, even in slo-mo. And the turnaround of the characters is such a relief.

The closest character turnaround I can cite is in "The Shining," when Jack is in the men's room with Grady. The latter starts out shorter and subservient to Jack. By the end of the scene, Philip Stone towers over Nicholson both physically and psychically.

I love that kind of stuff. I'm trying to write one scene like that in my novel, "Pipeline." It should be out next year. See if I succeeded!

Yes. Hella.

I've been in northern California, especially the Bay Area, since the early 1980s. It's local slang.

I assumed it was Australian.

Sheen just had to be himself. No, great acting, just saying.
