If you like Burt Reynolds you'll love it

I saw this on Amazon after watching Smokey and the Bandit and thought I'd give it a try. It's Burt and his peak Burt-ness. He carries what would otherwise be a very mediocre movie. He breezes through each scene with a devil-may-care attitude, never sweating it, always confident and smiling. He's essentially a more rough-and-tumble Bandit, and it's not a bad thing to be.

There are a couple amazing stunts - the boat chase in the beginning is fun and there is a scene where a truck rolls over on the beach while a stuntman jumps out that I had to rewind a few times because it was dangerous.

There is a decent supporting cast with Jerry Reed playing against type as the villain and Lauren Hutton showing that amazing smile.

I'd recommend it if you're looking for a light action comedy for a Sunday afternoon. I'm now aware it's a sequel to White Lightning, which I'm going to try next.
