How did Jodi Foster lose her talent for acting with age?
She was one of the best child actresses ever...
and yet today, she is just a fairly good actress.
I wonder how this happens?

shareShe never lost her acting edge. It was more evident when she was younger simply because most children haven't yet taken acting classes and Jodi looked like a professional from the beginning.

I think I know what you mean because she always appeared to be playing an adult when she was a kid, like in Taxi Driver. Now that she is an adult she's not really much different from a lot of good actresses, but it doesn't set her apart like it did when she was a child.

I think a more succinct answer is that as Hollywood actresses of high renown get older they are offered less good roles because a lot of movies being greenlit are not centered around women over the age of 40.
