Stock footage

The thing I remember about this show is that the same stock footage of the airplanes in flight and combat was recycled endlessly. Watching as a child, I got bored with it quickly. Was new footage introduced later in the series?

I don't know if it was stock footage. I think it was explicitly filmed for the show, but yeah, they obviously didn't have enough of it and kept using the same clips over and over. Don't believe that ever changed.

Thanks. Yeah, “stock footage” is probably the wrong term. Just the same footage used repeatedly. So much so that it was very noticeable.
