Why did Nellie fall in love with that hillbilly-type guy?

But I love that brainy, Jewish guy she ended up with. That romance was entertaining!

It was a very cute relationship, yes. Nellie was one of the few characters on the show who went in the right direction as LHOTP progressed. The other characters, not so much.

I was very disappointed when Alison Arngrim was forced off the show. I wanted to see more of their relationship.

I agree. Given that her mother was teaching her to be a snob, he seems like the last guy she'd be interested in. Maybe she was just affected by the fact that he liked her when no one else did. After all, that's what happened with Percival. She didn't like him until he said she was pretty.
