The way Laura treated Charles Jr.

I wonder what the real Laura Ingalls would have thought of how she was portrayed in The Lord is my Shepherd. How she was so upset that she didn't get another sister and she refused to even pray for Charles Jr. when he got sick. Didn't want anything to do with him! From what I understand, Laura loved her brother in real life and she was just as devastated as the rest of her family when he died. That's one of the reasons why she didn't talk about him in her books. It was a very painful memory for her. Not really sure why they felt the need to portray her as being so hateful towards him, just because her parents were excited that they finally had a boy(horror of horrors!). All it did was make her look like a spoiled, jealous brat with little to no compassion!

I thought the scene where she put the pillow over his head went a little too far.

Was that before or after she rubbed poison ivy all over him and shoved an ember in his mouth?

Great balls of fire!...*hiccup*...It's Rhett!

It's easy to understand once you remember that Laura is a psycho

reply

Well what do you expect from a girl who was a psycho and had electra complex?

My own guess would be that from the moment that Michael Landon passed through the pearly gates, the real townspeople couldn’t wait to kick the ever living shit out of him :D

Laura had every right to do what she did. Charles paid too much attention to the all important male child. He neglected his daughter's cuz he finally had the important boy. If it wasn't for us women men wouldn't have sons at all. Girls are just as important as boys are.

Charles was all over the baby boy because he was new. It's a sure thing he was just as obsessed with each new girl as they were born. A new kid always gets all the attention, girl or boy.
