Sleestacks Poll

Okay, show of hands from Generation Xers and people from the generation of the 70s that watched this show. Who among you is willing to admit that the Sleestacks scared the living crap out of you?

Count me in as one of those people who was absolutely terrified of the sleestacks!! I couldn't even be in the room if they were on the t.v. Caught the marathon on Sci Fi last night and laughed at how bad they looked.

That sound is still creepy though. What is it? (I'm sorry if it's already been discussed in this thread. I'm at work and can't get through it all today.) It sounds like a dental suction tool.

That breathing noise they made drove me bats.

LOL
I watched this show with my kid. I thought it was silly and a total blast. :)

Sorry, the Sleestacks didn't scare me, or my kid.

The show just came out in iTunes, so I plan to purchase and download all of the series and share it with my granddaughter. Ah, now another show I can watch with another generation

Thanks!!!

I saw this show in syndication in the 80s on Saturday mornings. They scared the bejesus out of me.

The Sleestak never scared me although they are quite memorable; I can still hear that hissing/breathing sound like I watched the show just yesterday. What got to me was the "god" the Sleestak worshipped. Soemthing about the smoke/fog and not being able to see it got me nervous. I remember one episode in particular when Holly actually got bit by the creature-seeing her go off screen and then hearing the snap! snap! of the jaws gave me the willies.

Loads of creamy music and lots of time to make it.

The Sleestack were very scary. The god in pit was scary. Grumpy was the scariest of them all. Okay a tie.

Im still suffering PTSD from having the crap scared out of me by Sleestack almost every Saturday morning.

Ahhh, the mighty Sleestacks! My older brothers used to call me one, you know. Looking back I wonder why they didn't cut a few of there heads off while they hibernated. Leaving a note saying "not to *beep* with them because they knew where they lived!"

Raises hand!

It's not how they looked, its the fact they creeped, and that hiss...

They Rocked!

Holly was 5 years older than I was, which was weird because I thought she was a little closer to my age. But I thought it would be cool having a girl around that could handle being in a lost world.

I wonder if she did ok with residuals?

Holly was an original "girl next store babe". No doubt the hissing SOB's had a plan for her!

Waving hand here - heck, both hands. I was terrified of them as a kid. This is odd since I LOVED snakes & most things reptilian & amphibian. I think it was their big bulbous eyes that freaked me out the most - and, of course, that damned hissing. Amazing how you see things as a kid - you don't question them or try to critique them - you just accept them. I think this is why the show still brings back such fond memories for so many of us, because we totally bought into it. I, for one, wanted to live there really badly - I thought the Pylons were the coolest things ever & honestly thought as a kid that living in LOTL in a cave would have rocked. But then I felt the same way @ Dr. Who - always thought the Tom Baker years were the best & wouldn't have minded existing in some of those situations either!

It's too bad the show had to end. But when the writers could only come up with an incest story. Well... they knew it was time to pull the plug.
