What exactly did Bolo die of?

Was it the kick to the groin courtesy of Mr. Roper?

I find it hard to believe that a man as physically strong as bolo could die from a kick to the groin...

If anybody could shed some light as to how he died, I would be very grateful!!

I've noticed since the 25th anniversary releases onward, a sound effect of Bolo being hit/finished off (though not shown onscreen) has been omitted out. The older Australian VHS releases had it. Not sure about others?
