Does McKay have an affair?

There seems to be a quiet woman that gets a lot of attention during the film, yet never says anything. His running for office clearly puts a strain on his relationship with his wife, but does he cheat on her?

You clearly get the impression that they had an affair.
So Natalie did Redford a favor by taking that small role and her character did an even bigger favor for his character McKay. So to speak.

He cheats (at least once, but like Lay's Potato Chips, most men can't have just one) but there's no evidence that it's an affair.

Personally, I don't get it. His wife (actress Karen Carlson) is absolutely stunning. I can't imagine doing anything that could jeopardize my opportunities to lay down with her . . . . and yet men do jeopardize their access to tail like that (i.e., the midwest politician who stupidly tried to talk his wife, Star Trek Voyager actress Jeri Ryan, into a threesome, thus turfing their marriage).

Yes - it seems he did have an affair. But Democrats don't apologize since everything is George Bush's fault anyway.

yep, sure did
