A not really very interesting conundrum but - do most films of this type at this time use imitation Bond Theme music. Or do we now think of these scores as Bond like just because most other films of this type and time dropped off the TV schedules decades ago?

I think they wanted it to be a new franchise like James Bond. So they emulated aspects of that series, music included.
shareThat sounds reasonable. I've always liked this film but it feels quite small compared to a James Bond production. An enjoyable little British thriller but not a breakout for anyone concerned.
