Silly post, but to answer your question... The movie was over a short enough time period (under 2 days) where it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he wouldn't have had to eat to survive. Also, the fact he had taken a large amount of speed would of also reduced his appetite, so he probably wasn't hungry anyway.

One will always have a sufficient supply of twinkies stashed away in the glove compartment whenever one decides to hit the road.

Speed was the 'miracle drug' of the 70s. It was even prescribed to both my parents as a weight loss drug. It reduces appetite and the need for sleep.

I always find it funny on these boards (for any movie) when someone makes a comment like this. Like our viewing pleasure is ruined because we didn't see Kowalski stop for a sandwhich or to take a poop or something that is irrelevant to the story. I watched Ocean's 11 (the Clooney one) the other night, it took place over many days, weeks possibly and not once did I see any of the characters, eat or sleep or go to the bathroom! Talk about phoney! LOL

In the mid 70s I was stationed in Oklahoma and would drive back to West Virginia on leave. It was 21 hours and I'd make it with little more than a couple of bottles of pop and 2 or 3 packs of smokes. I'm not sure how common drive through windows were at fast food then, but the main reason I didn't eat was to save time.

in the 2010's a driver would stop every hour for a triple bacon and cheeseburger, with fries and rings. The driver would weigh over 300 lb.

In 1998 I drove from Yuma to L.A. in three and a half hours. I was flying through the sand dunes at 115 mph. I had a CD in the player blasting. I ate nothing. I was Kowalski!
