Burton as action hero

Where Eagles Dare is good fun in its old-fashioned way (awfully long, though) but, while Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood have chemistry, it is pretty hard to accept the lumbering Burton leaping between moving cable cars thousands of feet up in the Alps. Those people who complain about Roger Moore's casting as Bond should take a good look at Burton in this film.
